And things you (okay, I) never knew...

... such as that the tune for "Once Upon a Dream" from Disney's Sleeping Beauty actually comes from Tchaikovsky's ballet of the same name. (Incidentally, does anyone else agree that this is one seriously undeservedly underwatched Disney film? I place it squarely in the ranks of the old good films, like Snow White and Bambi. Cinderella was probably the first of the not-good-ones in my estimation.)

Ooh, I could start a poll to that effect! But then I'd have to go figure out how to do a poll. :)

As a matter of fact, I did know that, but only because I know Disney films like the palm o' me hand, voman! I used to sing that song to my dad over the phone because he lived so far away. Ahh memories. ;-)

Definitely! Sleeping Beauty and Robin Hood were always my favorites, though I also liked Aladdin from the later movies. I was never much a fan of Bambi or Snow White, though.

well, maleficent is absolutely the best disney villain ever.
but robin hood was always my favorite. movie, not villain. er...

the emperor's new groove is seriously underrated, except among medieval grads.

I agree, Sleeping Beauty is one of the good ones...though every time I hear a reference to things "going back into the Disney vault", it reminds me why I don't go to see Disney animated flicks anymore. Money-grubbing, evil people...
