So this is fun...
I had a headache all yesterday evening. I took various things for it, eventually resorting to my migraine medicine, which helped somewhat. However, I went to sleep before taking the full dosage, because otherwise I'd have had to stay awake for three more hours.
I woke up just about three hours later, with the headache back full force. Worrying, however, that I'd need the migraine medicine later today, when a) I'm only supposed to take 5 pills in 24 hours, and b) I'd already taken three, I instead took two excedrin and two advil. So now? My headache's mostly gone, but I feel a bit nauseous. Don't know if this is residual from the headache, a result of too many mixed drugs, or something completely unrelated but instead having to do with my stomach problem.
I think I'll not go to either class today. I e-mailed my professors saying that I thought I was getting a migraine, so I'll be covered. Hopefully I can get some sleep and be nice and chipper by the time of the concert!!
On the plus side, when I woke up, the lyric wheel forum was open, so I got to post my story.

Get well pretty darn soon!
I know all about migraines, unfortunately, what with a family member thus afflicted...

The thing is, these may not be migraines. They could be tension headaches, or something else entirely. The doctor wasn't sure, because although I definitely have some migraine symptoms, I also don't have some of the most common ones, like the flashing lights.

I have also tried codeine, which is does not stop the pain but at least makes it bearable.

Yeah, the two symptoms that you just mentioned are definitely things I have. Codeine, sadly, makes me nauseous and gives me headaches, so not such a good thing to try. ;) Midrin usually works if I take the full course.
Thanks for the info.

One of these days I'll get an oxygen bottle and will try that. Apparently it works, and I've noticed that CO poisoning brings on migraines.

When I still wore contacts/glasses, taking them out or off, respectively, used to help at least briefly, but now, of course, I don't have that option. I knew there had to be drawbacks to being able to see. ;)

I *like* mustard. Whinge!
I take it you did the laser eye surgery thing? I did that too, a couple of years ago. It worked really well for me.

Yup. Worked fantastically for me, too; 20/15. It's lovely. And very strange, every time I think to remember. :)
