The longest day
Aug. 27th, 2003 11:20 pmWell, Wednesday will, technically, be my longest day, assuming I get back into P5. Class starts same time as every day (11, heh heh), but P5 doesn't end until 9 or 10. It'll probably be my longest day anyway, as my Wednesday seminar goes 2-5, whereas my other seminar is split into two days.
German's still being fun, we learned to count to thirty today. So now I know the letters and a bunch of numbers. Papyrology's probably going to be fun, too; I do like Todd. I'm going to be editing this papyrus.
I ran into still more people today; I saw Shannon from my French 2 class, and I saw Nas (who inquired after both
mciac and
psychopepsquad. I also saw various music-type people, which was less coincidental, because I was doing music-type things.
Had curry with
leech before the P5 auditions; this may or may not have helped to fix my throat somewhat with regards to singing. My guess is it neither helped nor hindered, but my throat did feel pretty damn bad. The fortunate thing is that none of the completely new auditioning altos were particularly good, at least insofar as I could tell. Obviously Sabrina's fabulous, as is Park; Emily's Emily, and hasn't changed much with regards to her voice or anything else, and Kristen and Tammy haven't changed much either. So I think I'm definitely fine if there are four altos (unless someone new had a really good voice that I didn't notice), and I may or may not be OK if there are only three.
After the audition,
leech and Anand and I (in one order or another; Oxford G&S lot, think mind-swap but with a name tag) went with Anand's office mate to look at Mars. Except Mars decided not to be there, because it was cloudy. So we chatted with a couple of their friends for a bit, then the four of us went down to the Bear's Lair briefly. I had a jasmine hard iced tea, then I biked home.
The hollyhock that seeded itself in a crack in the driveway is blooming. Unsurprisingly, it's pink. It's just in front of where
wolfemancs stops his car, so it's really quite happy. And apparently immune to the weedkiller that he decided to spray the other day.
ETA: In the papyrology room, there was a metal book trolley, and on the side, it said two things. It had MAIN POOL stencilled on, and then it said "This is not a truck." Go figure.
