Dinner last night at [livejournal.com profile] sschmitt's, 'cause [livejournal.com profile] mciac was in town. That was fun, and the food was very good (courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] jdaustin). This morning woke up early to have dinner with [livejournal.com profile] sschmitt and [livejournal.com profile] mciac; we went to the yellow breakfast place (which actually has a real name, something like Barcheesi, but not that, I don't think) — in any case, it's on San Pablo & Dwight. Good food, and I'll drag my parents there at some time.

Following this, I went to Gaius' for a pancake brunch, not that I could eat many pancakes, obviously, following my substantial breakfast. But it was fun, for a while at least, and then I went to pick up [livejournal.com profile] leech for P5 rehearsal. Parking near campus turned out to be a small piece of Hell, 'cause there was a women's basketball game happening, or something. I think. Rehearsal good: the Christmas pieces are coming along, and hopefully they should sound pretty good. Memorizing them will be tricky, though. *sigh*

Came home to discover that [livejournal.com profile] wolfemancs is suddenly keen on Scrabble, which is obviously a good thing, so we played a game. All I can say is, "IQ" really needs to be an official word, despite the rules it breaks. And I'm glad to see "qanat" finally on the list of acceptable words. I had the letters for "harpoon" and "tarpaulin" (the latter being a so-called Bingo), but there sadly weren't spots to put either.

Currently wishing that I'd had a CD-burner when I copied the two-CD set of Christmas carols from Simon in my first year; I'd like to have those on CD rather than tape. Though tapes are good for the car. But still.

German oral exam tomorrow. This is not going to go well. *sigh*

Bad: German oral exam, following very not much sleep.
Good: It didn't go too too badly, and I knew one of the examiners, which made it more friendly, if a bit more stressful, perhaps.
Bad: I forgot my wallet at home and hence had exactly $0.00 with which to purchase food.
Good: Today was AiR's solo switch day, which was hilarious, and since I got out of German très early, I watched them rehearsing as well as getting to go to the first part of their Sproul performance.
Bad: My ring broke. My ring broke. This is the silver (platinum?) ring that I always wear on the middle finger of my right hand, that belonged to my great-aunt Fan, that's set with lots of little tiny diamonds. And evidently the seam was underneath one of the diamonds, and somehow it got weak and just... broke. I don't care if it is seventy years old, that's still fairly shoddy craftsmanship. It wasn't being worn for a large number of those years. Fortunately, although the diamond fell out, I found it, 'cause it caught on my jacket sleeve and sparkled. So the ring and diamond are in my wireless case, and I'm hoping that I can find someone to repair it and that the repair isn't too expensive.
Good: P5 rehearsal.
Bad: Not many people were there.
Good: [livejournal.com profile] leech lent me money so I didn't starve after all. Ate with Caitlin after rehearsal, 'twas fun.
Bad: It's already dark outside. How ridiculous.

Sesame Street quiz. And I *didn't* doctor the results, so nyah )
