I meant to do work. Instead, I saw The Triplets of Belleville with [livejournal.com profile] girlwithjournal, took her shopping, and then hung out at her house for a bit and had tea and chopped garlic for [livejournal.com profile] dizzyditz. Then I went to the Pulp Bee Hat Exchange, nominally for a make-your-own-pizza and watch-movies night, but instead it was a make-your-own-pizza and hang-out-lots night. I got an excellent backrub from [livejournal.com profile] leech, and then we colonized [livejournal.com profile] grimhild's and [livejournal.com profile] leech's room. I haven't had that good a backrub since there was the masseur at Mayhem that time. I've barely had any backrubs at all since then. That's, like, three years ago.

I am now going to go sleeeep. Or something. I'll try and sleep, but my computer may be more intriguing, since I always forget how nice sleep is until after I wake up again.

Oh, and did anyone phone me and leave a message? 'Cause I accidentally deleted an unheard message on my answering machine. It's new, and I'm still figuring it out.

I was looking at the Loeb introduction to Pythian 4, and somehow I read "Aphrodite devises the iynx for Jason to seduce Medea" as "Aphrodite devises the iynx for Jason to seduce Hera." Which would be a very strange variant of the myth. But then again, Pindar is very strange. To his credit, however, he's not actually that strange, and only the gap between my eyes and my brain can produce that level of oddity.

I always feel so bad when I do these, because there's so much that I really ought to have read that I haven't. But at least this time I have books sitting on my shelf that last time I promised I would obtain and read. So I'm halfway there, right?

And you may notice my shameful trend towards sci-fi/fantasy.

I am so, so, so weak-willed. And I may never click on the Amazon.com gold box offer again. But... Monty Python special collector edition DVD of The Holy Grail.... under $40.... *whimpers* How could I pass that up? I mean, really?
