Ga*ked from a plethora of people, among them [livejournal.com profile] livredor and <user

I decided I had to do this just 'cause it's going to be so difficult!

Name a CD you own that no one else on your friends list does:
Hmm. I know that nobody except myself and [livejournal.com profile] jessbess owns Mrs God (by Mrs God), so if [livejournal.com profile] jessbess never got a copy, I'm the only one who owns that. If we can digress into the spoken word, no one else has any episodes of Soldiers of Love, except for that I copied the first one for [livejournal.com profile] fengshui, so he and [livejournal.com profile] schlafmanko technically own that. So I'll go for the less obscure — Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress, featuring Dawn Upshaw as... I can't remember.

Name a book you own that no one else on your friends list does:
Probably no one else has Lord Darcy. Or Darcy's Utopia, which [livejournal.com profile] sea_bright gave me for my 21st. And I'd bet that no one else has The Story of the Mikado, as told by W.S. Gilbert. Thanks again, [livejournal.com profile] girlwithjournal!

Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/etc that no one else on your friends list does:
I'll be good and avoid delving into the films that my parents, and not I, officially own. So... I may be the only one who owns Kevin Kline's Pirates of Penzance; and does anyone else have What's Cooking? ([livejournal.com profile] jsposito, you're the only one I can think of who might.) I don't own many movies, so it's a bit tricky.

Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has:
A lot of the uncommon places I've been to I've visited with someone on my friends list. But not, aha, the places I went in the north of France. So I'll put forth Beuvron-en-Auge, a nice small town in Normandy, as my candidate.

I own Kevin Kline's "Pirates of Penzance." *sticks tongue out*

It is true that I don't own a copy of Pirates. This is a terrible oversight. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't seem to have it on DVD. Anyone know whether it was ever released on DVD?

Oooh! Oooh! How cool is that? Can we see it?? If there is no room in your house my house would be ok but my AV stuff is in my bedroom.

I oughtta own "What's Cooking?"! I don't yet, unfortunately. Heh heh, I can't wait for "Bride and Prejudice." Should be after Boxing Day here.

I may actually have watched Pirates of Penzance more than any other movie. I sorrow that I am at the wrong end of the state to be able to participate in your hypothetical viewing party...

Yes, I've succumbed to the LJ meme. [INSERT DEITY HERE] help us all. (And my PhD progress. :P )

Regrettably for you, I have also been to Beuvron-en-Auge at least once, and possibly more. Northern France is very convenient from the West Country.

Yay! I'm glad you like it.

BTW, I feel like I haven't seen you in ages. We should really try to have lunch next week.

I've seen it, and had it taped (from TV) for a bit, long ago.

But I do!

You've got me there! I have seen it, but I don't own it! You win!

Would that be Randall Garrett's Lord Darcy ? I have all of those.

From what I remember, it's not bad at all. Although it was a LONG time ago, and my movie tastes may have changed a little! You rarely go wrong with Anthony Hopkins, though.

Nope, and if it's the "edited" by Eric Flint volume, my sympathies.

Flint's "editing" for clarity and continuity is an exercise in butchery of interesting stylistic individualities so far as I am concerned.
