Nov. 28th, 2003 09:35 pmFull of turkey and gravy and stuffing and cranberries and yams and pumpkin pie and whatnot more for the second night in a row. And tomorrow morning there's a waffle "cook-off"/"-a-thon" — two or three different waffle recipes being taste-tested in our fine household. All thanks to my mother's friend Lin, who's joined us in Cambria subsequent to Thanksgiving.
I saw Anne today, and it was bittersweet as always. She's fun to talk to, but it's angsty as well, for ever so many numerous reason. I can't help but see reflections of her mother growing from every facet. She's constantly furious about having to live with her parents, but she doesn't see that it's partially accepting her mother's over-protectiveness that's causing her to have to do so. I can only wonder how much more I might have liked her if she hadn't had the cancer. Such a screwed up family, there, and Matt's now off to college (for his junior year, it turns out; he's 21 already, which I can't fathom).
