Apparently, I communicate with squirrels
Dec. 7th, 2003 10:39 pmSo the concert went well, though it didn't actually feel so when we were singing; but having been reassured that we must actually have been fairly loud, and the acoustics were just bad for performers, I'm a bit reassured.
But the strangeness of today: I was walking towards Chavez just before we were meeting there to warm up, and I saw a squirrel run down a tree and into the ivy. So, as I tend to, I clicked at it to see if I could get its attention briefly. Well, I didn't just get its attention. It stopped and looked straight at me, so I stood still and kept clicking. And it ran towards me and jumped onto my leg and began climbing up it. I was, of course, freaked, so I jumped, which scared it, and it ran away. Besides, it probably had ticks or fleas or rabies or was otherwise unsanitary, so it's just as well that I didn't let it climb up high enough that it could bite me. But woah.

Date: 2003-12-08 11:28 pm (UTC)And please, I've just realised there's a fair bit of bestiality in Chaucer (as far as we can tell, the notes are coy as usual - they translate "queynte" as "sexual favours" to give you an idea - but the word "pryking" keeps coming up in Sir Thopas, alarmingly in relation to the horse) and am reeling, keep your filthy thoughts to yourself!
