The Dodo, and the dragon tile. Also the snail, but I think that's just cos you've been using that for ages. The Buffy ones all look very generic to me. The heron is very cute as an icon, but I'm not sure it represents you. The Gilbert one is fun.

As it is, most of you are just kind of associating the icons with my name and what you know about me.

I think that's your best icon, definitely. (I wrote my original comment without looking at the other answers, but now I'm looking, you see.) This one is very stylish indeed, but it's also a picture of a person who obviously isn't you.

I know that's not what it's asking. What I was trying to explain, and not really doing too well, was that I generally have less close associations for pictures of people who don't look like you, than for pictures of things or creatures that are obviously not people, but represent Darcy-ness in my mind. Thus I don't strongly associate the picture of you with you, because it just doesn't look enough like you. Whereas dragon and snail and salamander are so very Darcy, and dodo has a verbal link, which is always the strongest, in my way of thinking.

Definitely the dodo, and I think probably the dragon tile after that. Some of your older ones just cos I've had more time to get used to them. And some of the Willow / Tori ones don't look like your style at all. The picture of you looks nothing like you, but obviously I associate it with you because duh, no-one else would be using it.

I'm afraid my icon associations tend toward the literal-- Darcy icon + dodo icon = darcydodo, for me. Although I'm also partial to the dragon-tile. Your default icon, by the way, really is a nice picture of you.

Generally when one says that a picture of someone is nice, it means that the person looks good in the picture (and, by extrapolation, looks like him or herself). Not that the picture is technically pretty. :P

Most of the top ones... Well, say: the one of you, definitely. Which is foolishly obvious, but nevertheless true. And then probably either the bird, or the Sapphic stanzas one.

Looking through, there's some on your list I don't think I've even seen...

Some of them I don't use very often, particularly since I try and at least vaguely match my icon to my post/mood. But then again, I don't use the bird one all that often, either; I tend to use it if I'm talking about singing. :) If I'm talking about my artwork, I usually use either it or the lizard.

I've just obviously had the top ones around longest, so that could be why they resonate.
