ladycat777, so I thought I'd post it here, too. Laugh at 10-year-old me, with gigantic glasses and bangs (fringe, for you English people out there who don't speak American).

Back row: Alex, Jason, Carly
Front row: me
This was my tenth birthday party, at the beach by Gladstones, post the sand-castle contest. The beakers that we're holding have sandcrabs in them, which we dumped in our castle's moat. I can't remember if the flags had a specific purpose or were just for general decoration.
Alex Baskin is the boy that I had a crush on in 2nd grade. I obviously gave valentines to everyone in the class, per elementary school tradition, but I slipped a little note into his that said something like "Darcy likes Alex." He didn't say anything, so later I went up to him and was like, I thought I saw some random bit of paper sticking out of your envelope when I gave it to you, what was it? And he said something to the effect of oh, it was something stupid; so I think I pretended as though some kid must have slipped it in there to try and make trouble. I was not very good at subtlety back in the day. I possibly am not even now. :)

Date: 2004-01-21 02:42 am (UTC)I started growing my hair in first grade, cut it to shoulder length at the end of 5th grade (so about a year after the other photo), and have grown it out again since then (with the occasional trim to destroy the evils of split ends).

Baby photos are fun

Date: 2004-01-21 04:48 pm (UTC)Baby pictures are fun. It's so tempting to scan the whole lot of them. But then I'd have to store them. :)
