Flabbergasted isn't a mood, damn them.

Can I just say... tongue ring???!!! I mean, my god. But now, for those who actually care about something beyond my jesus-christ-wtf-who-knew? moment that I went through, there:
I actually liked the episode. OK, axe-in-the-stone for the Once And Future Slayer, really not to my liking and it so should've been about the demon-box (they're really just going to throw that aside now, aren't they? Fools. Much better plot-hook); but many aspects of the episode were very much of the good. The Mayor? *mwah* So good to see him again, 'cause I think he was always my favorite Big Bad. 'Cause really? he wasn't big or bad, he was just hilarious. Some very good lines in there, too ("You were very believable as a disgruntled minion"), but I again have to ask, what's with Giles? Still.
Mmm for the Willow-sex, but silly shirt. Much amused by the noises penetrating downstairs to the Ice Cream Therapy Palace. Yay for the eyepatch, though I wanted him to have his parrot, too. I want to see Wood's reaction when he realizes Faith is still use 'em and lose 'em girl. He's got one big ego. (And no, for the record, you're not special, Wood. You were just an attempted path through to ridding the Slayer of her pet vamp.) I must say, for all the silly soppiness of the Kennedy/Willow conversation, it really made me go awwww. 'Cause it wasn't so entirely far off what has upon occasion been said in real life. (No, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Forget it was I who said that.)
And now, for something completely different
I mean, really. It's "speech." Never, in a million years, is it "speach." For fuck's sake. I swear, "speach" sounds like it should be some weird sort of word for ejaculation, or something. There are many words that end in -each, but "speech" is not one of them. The only word that I can think of that has an -eech and -each termination (and means the same thing in both cases) is leech/leach. So I'm not talking about something like beech/beach. (Any others, though, besides those? Can't actually think of any.)
ETA: What's with this font? If I tell it I want the font size bigger, it's 'cause I want it bigger. Grr.

Date: 2003-05-07 09:00 am (UTC)ITA. But you already knew that. The only polite thing I could think to say when they all started asserting that was that maybe they were thinking of middle English...'cause they sure as hell weren't thinking of the English that we all speak! Dude, it was like "The Wish"...trapped in this AU where everyone is insane. And they had to look that up in a dictionary? Doesn't speach just scream WRONG!!!!!
::takes deep breath::

Date: 2003-05-07 09:09 am (UTC)Also, the Willow/Kennedy extended kite metaphor was really awkward. "You be a kite and I'll be your kite string" created a pretty unconvincing image, perhaps because it leads the viewer to wonder who precisely is holding the string. Bad Kennedy writing has been a problem all season, and has made it difficult for me to care about Kennedy as a character and consequently her relationship with Willow. Also, I miss Tara.
Anyhow, pardon the intrusion.

Date: 2003-05-07 09:22 am (UTC)At least knowing that the axe was given to Fray makes me feel somewhat better about it not being a last-minute we're-ending-the-series plot device. But it's still silly, and hopefully they'll manage to make it somewhat less silly in the course of the last two episodes.
Re: Willow and Kennedy. Yeah, I miss Tara too. Bad lots-of-people writing has been a problem all season, and I think Kennedy (and the rest of the Potentials, for that matter) suffered particularly because in her case it wasn't bad writing layered over a previously-established character. It's true that this means I care about the relationship solely because of Willow, not because of the relationship per se, but I still had to say awww last night. :)

Ooh, yay, pedantry... you'll so fit in well around here! ;)
