I got inspired by "Five by Five" to write a little Faith/Lilah drabble.

Diamonds Become Her
There are diamonds in her ears, and the light trembles rainbows from them across her cheek. Satin sheets quietly rustle their promise, echoing an earlier pledge. I'm certain you won't be disappointed with our performance. No, there will be no disappointment here tonight. Now pale silk slides from paler shoulders, leaving Lilah's breasts goose-pimpled and exposed. Throaty laughter. "I suppose there were other intentions, really. You say you like to watch." It is not a question, and Faith gives no reply. Instead, her dark eyes rest on the woman half-naked before her, and a smile begins to curve her lips.

ETA: I just love the following direction in the shooting script for this episode: "(NOTE TO DIRECTOR AND ACTORS: Mind the lesbian subtext -- keep it very "sub".)"

Wow. Very well done-- a little scene that captures so much of just the right feeling.

I had all but forgotten the Faith/Lilah scene in Five by Five-- God, what AWESOME episodes 5x5 and Sanctuary were; they really, really got me hooked on Angel the Series.

And now the lovely [livejournal.com profile] roseveare is sending me the Angel tapes with Season 3...

Thank you. Yeah, I'd wondered what was behind all the Wes/Faith/Lilah drabbles that show up every week on sunday100, but they make somewhat more sense now.

Hee. Mind you, I'm still not really interested in most of these pairings, but this piece worked well; particularily, of course, due to the fact ED could have chemistry with a cement block...

I definitely like AtS more now than I did previously, but what's interesting is that I had already seen 5x5 and Sanctuary, and they hadn't done so much for me. It was seeing them in the context of the rest of the season that made them that much more powerful. Season 2 should be fun....

Season Two is GREAT! Loved it better than Season One; they smoothed out the glitches and really found their step. And the story arc...lovely, dark and touching.

And yeah, the Faith Interlude is the very counterpoint and parallel to Angel's own way to redemption; it's poignant and moving as a part of the big picture.
