It never does to underestimate Anand. I alluded to one of the Frances books, and then asked if he'd read them when he was little, assuming that he must not have, because they seem quite like girls' books. But, in fact, he had read them, which is just lovely.

I'm pimping the Halloween Show here and now, and I shall try and do so again closer to the date (as well as spamming some peoples' inboxes). But it's only a week away, and I tend to find that peoples' schedules fill up awfully quickly.

Completely incidental to the clothes-bashing that's been going on, I bought some black trousers at the GAP today, since I need them for all sorts of things. The best bit about them, besides their comfort-level? I can toss 'em in the wash! As for their appearance, I think they look OK on me. It's kinda hard to tell without anyone around to advise. But I didn't know where people were, and these needed to be bought now.

On an unrelated topic, it's very strange seeing all the discussion about Freshers' battle practice on the Wychwood mailing list. I'm nearly (or more than?) halfway through my own damned semester, already!!!

Yay!

My DVDs arrived from Amazon! I am now the proud owner of "What's Cooking?" and "The Princess Bride: Special Edition." Finally, two movies that I have been waiting and waiting and waiting to own, and finally thought, what the fuck, I'm gonna do this now. So I'm going to watch them. Lots. Not right now, though, as much will-power as this is actually going to take, because I'm going to Mont's debauched 33rd birthday party. He says the more the merrier, so anyone who wants to swing on by, it's at Jupiter, in the upstairs room. Now.

I thought Mont's parties were supposed to be debauched. I mean, I've been hearing stories about food orgies for the last year. But no. Sad to say, it was not. It was lots of people talking in a crowded upstairs room at Jupiter, and while they were people I like and I had fun talking to them, surely it would be better to... err... get to know other people. Yeah, that was it. Get to know 'em. I even wore a non-t-shirt, and it was wasted. Wasted, I tell you!

However, the evening did produce a couple of interesting tidbits. Interesting to me, at any rate. And I did enjoy myself.

1) Most surreal moment of the evening: I was talking to Justin, and he said, "Yeah, my drug-dealers were telling me..." I mean, I know he smokes pot, but it's still something I've never heard come out of anyone's mouth before.

2) Something that will be interesting to [livejournal.com profile] mciac if she doesn't already know this. Thalia's got lots of light streaks in her hair. This may have occurred ages back, or she may've told you, but it's the case. So I thought I'd pass it on in the hopes that it was actually information. ;)

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] girlwithjournal, I told Justin you were in his section, and after I reminded him who you were, he said, "I knew she looked familiar!" So now he knows who you are, and may even remember through your next section. If you don't drop the class, that is. ;)
