Time is of the essence

Stupid fucking airline. Did you know that if you book a ticket in two legs, and then want to chop off the first leg, you can't? You have to take the whole ticket or nothing. And if you simply don't show up for the first part of the flight, of course they cancel the full thing. Which means that I have to drive down to LA tomorrow simply in order to get on a plane the next day that flies to San Francisco. This is possibly the very stupidest thing I've ever heard. (I alternatively could have simply flown out of San Francisco a day earlier, but I figured I'd have slightly more time in Berkeley if we did the whole driving thing.)

It also means that I probably won't get a chance to catch up on reading people's lj entries before I go. Sorry, guys. I don't yet know what my e-mail/web access will be like in France... guess we'll see!
