Date: 2005-02-07 11:34 pm (UTC)Oh, and there was the grinning American wearing a checked shirt and an evil expression who convinced me at my first Freshers' Fair that I really *did* want to join the G&S society, and then later that I wanted to rejoin it, for which I owe huuuuuuuge debt of gratitude :)
P.S. Directorial matchmaking is alive and well :)

Date: 2005-02-08 03:22 am (UTC)D---- was kind enough to come over and take away some of the size-ten clothes I certainly don't need, and lend me a videotape I wanted to borrow, and check out the Latin textbooks that Eric learned from so I would feel less insecure about trying to learn Latin from books, and check out the muffins I made from her recipe, and see if she wanted any of my extra t-shirts. And, you know, brighten my day with her cheery demeanor. I feel better now!
woah!

Date: 2005-02-08 06:20 am (UTC)Oh, and uh, what about that one word we had totally and completely wrong on the Equinox Rope puzzle? That set us so far behind we were still working on it at the end of the break well after the winners were announced. Man, I wish I could remember what we thought it was, 'cuz it was funny.

Date: 2005-02-08 10:53 am (UTC)Perhaps, the Trossachs. And the frog mating call. Or coming round for huge breakfasts and waking all my housemates. Or coming round for chicken at midnight. Or maybe when I first met you at the Patience rehearsal and I was thinking 'Who is that cute singer playing the lead...?'

Date: 2005-02-08 09:49 pm (UTC)That's still one of the most magical evenings of Oxford for me, despite everything. You all looked *so* pretty, and sitting around Corpus/the punts/Meriel's room afterwards was fun too, even if we were exhausted. And then I chased a lost mobile around Oxford.

Date: 2005-02-09 06:44 am (UTC)Honestly, I don't know how you managed to come back after some weeks.
In case you didn't know: it meant worlds to us that you kept coming back. Thanks!
