If you read this, even if I don't speak to you often, you must post a memory of me. It can be anything you want, it can be good or bad, just so long as it happened.

Then post this to your journal. See what people remember about you.

I still remember you and Eugenie and I taking Louise back to her room after the LGBsoc Christmas bash and her being unwell and me being slightly the worse for wear and not thinking before waving the flyer around in front of her other friend...

That was a bit random :)

I could write a book of memories of you, so I'll start with the first: I remember seeing you on the other side of the room in St John's, grinning because you were eating a bagel. I remember thinking "I would do anything for that smile" and I remember deciding I was being ridiculous and obviously I didn't believe in love at first sight, of all stupid things. I remember that very distinct moment when something major shifted, even if I was trying to argue myself out of it at the time.

I'm thinking of watching you with P5 in the practice room while I finished knitting a hat. And various other moments from my Berkeley visit, like Vampire-Slut-Nun.

I remember being at Raleigh's, feeling alone and out of place, looking around...and there you were!

I remember getting enthusiastic e-mails from [livejournal.com profile] thalassius over the summer of our first year, being far too bouncy about arguments he was having in California with some DHC. And I remember your room in Corpus, with [livejournal.com profile] shreena and people sitting on the bed, after the G&S Christmas party in second year. And you at Saturnalia, when the two of us got dragged into the room next door for gossiping purposes.

A definitive memory, huh? Well, probably seeing you in your purple top for that halloween concert where you had the Lorenna McKevit solo. That made an impression on me, because it was very different from your usual attire. Other than that, probably just sitting and chatting with you on Sproul while groups sang.

The basking shark grin (wherever). Not to mention being teased by you and Paul as we searched for a venue for your party.
Oh, and there was the grinning American wearing a checked shirt and an evil expression who convinced me at my first Freshers' Fair that I really *did* want to join the G&S society, and then later that I wanted to rejoin it, for which I owe huuuuuuuge debt of gratitude :)

P.S. Directorial matchmaking is alive and well :)

I remember when I first met you in person, when you came by Wilde with [livejournal.com profile] leech to eat samosas and play bridge.

Oh, that sounds right actually. I guess this was the first time we met that it stuck.

I remember eating pizza at the top of Barrows and hearing about how you used to wear gas-permeable hard contacts, before getting laser eye surgery and ending up with better-than-perfect eyes (by the way, you're not a cyborg now, are you?)

I remember the time I almost met up with you. I was in LA, and we even spoke on the phone and everything, and then it just didn't work out. So close, yet so far. I'd still like to meet you, if we ever managed to be in the same state at the same time.

I remember you standing in the kitchen in heaven, absent-mindedly twirling the tip of your braid. I did not know if it was something you did on a regular basis but I found it adorable; extremely sincere and personal, somehow.

This was a whole day's post:

D---- was kind enough to come over and take away some of the size-ten clothes I certainly don't need, and lend me a videotape I wanted to borrow, and check out the Latin textbooks that Eric learned from so I would feel less insecure about trying to learn Latin from books, and check out the muffins I made from her recipe, and see if she wanted any of my extra t-shirts. And, you know, brighten my day with her cheery demeanor. I feel better now!

woah!

Three words: "Needs more brandy."

Oh, and uh, what about that one word we had totally and completely wrong on the Equinox Rope puzzle? That set us so far behind we were still working on it at the end of the break well after the winners were announced. Man, I wish I could remember what we thought it was, 'cuz it was funny.

Err, a single memory is sooo difficult.

Perhaps, the Trossachs. And the frog mating call. Or coming round for huge breakfasts and waking all my housemates. Or coming round for chicken at midnight. Or maybe when I first met you at the Patience rehearsal and I was thinking 'Who is that cute singer playing the lead...?'

I don't think I could manage just one either. Here's a selection:
Propping up the bar at the Casablanca ball
Your room at Corpus, and [livejournal.com profile] thalassius being afraid of mushrooms
May-day, complete with toggles, woggles and icecream
you introducing me to turf
swimming in the lake in Canada

That's still one of the most magical evenings of Oxford for me, despite everything. You all looked *so* pretty, and sitting around Corpus/the punts/Meriel's room afterwards was fun too, even if we were exhausted. And then I chased a lost mobile around Oxford.

Innumerable Noteworthy performances, where you (and possibly Ari) would sit, grin, and bear it.
Honestly, I don't know how you managed to come back after some weeks.
In case you didn't know: it meant worlds to us that you kept coming back. Thanks!
