I've written a piece of non-BtVS fanfic for multifandom1000; I don't know if anyone's read Melanie Rawn's Dragon Prince series, but anyway, that's the world it's set in. So if anyone's interested, or just wants some almost-NC-17 kicks, it's here.

That's rather sweet, and you've got Rawn's style pretty well. But why 'almost NC-17'? It's only just obvious that what you're describing is sex at all. (Which is itself very much in the style of the series.)

Me, I can't really imagine Sioned crying in the scene you've described. But I suppose she is rather young at the time of the story, and has an excuse for being weepy and emotional.

I wasn't specifically trying for Rawn's style, as I obviously haven't got the books here to give me a good dosage before I started writing, so I'm glad that I've at least vaguely caught it anyway.

As for the crying thing, no, I can't really either, but I decided that I wanted her to, and I figured that with the excuse given, it's plausible. No one ever said they don't all! :)

And with regards to NC-17... what, you think it should be PG? Clearly not. So what would you suggest (bearing in mind that it's standard to err on the side of caution)?

I can't entirely remember how the American rating system works (though I'm sure you've explained it to me at some point). I'd be more than happy for a 12-year-old to read that piece. Being cautious I'd be unsure about anyone much younger than that, but I'm sure some junior school age kids would cope with it fine. Hence, probably PG-13 (did I get that right?)

*claps* Yes, you got it right. ;) Anyway, umm, I suppose in a way it could equally be PG-13 or NC-17. If anyone else has ideas about this....

I often wonder about these ratings, since I like things that are very suggestive. If it's graphic, duh, NC-17, but if it's beautiful, but the content is definitely there? Hmm. Not that I write anything all that smutty, but is non-graphic phone sex PG-13? 13 year-olds think about this stuff, but maybe the whole point is that they shouldn't be.

But enough of evil ratings. Thumbs up/thumbs down would certainly suffice for me ;)

On to gushing praise for darcydodo. Very nice, very sensual. Especially liked the way you conveyed color and movement. (I know, sounds a bit vague, but it's true). I'd quote a little of you back to yourself, but the story is elsewhere, not above :(

As for the ratings thing, good points, and I have no clue. I'm very glad I'm not in charge of actually deciding ratings for things, or I'd probably have lost my job by now.
