Two part episodes are evil. I'm just saying.
Sam is a cylon??? That was totally his voice in the "next week on". Which means the freaky music was a cylon-indicator. Which means that Tori and Colonel Tigh are cylons. That would be the "we." My god, though, even with Tori apparently being a cylon, Laura so owned her, with the "comb your hair!" and "don't lose your cool!" If bad hair were an indication of cylonity, then Baltar would be a cylon fifty times over.
But here's the thing. I wrote the following on
jennyo's livejournal a month or so ago on the question of whether or not Bill Adama could be a cylon (my argument being no, he couldn't), and whether or not Laura could (for all I know, she still could be):
"If Bill's a cylon, though, doesn't that mean that Lee's really the one that all the cylons should be making a big deal of? Also, there's the slight problem of Bill being actively in service even before the end of the first Cylon War, while they all still looked like chrome toasters. Laura, however, didn't enter politics (I'm basing this on the Battlestar Wiki timeline, 'cause I'm sad like that) until just 11 years before the attack on Caprica. So she could totally be a plant."
Now, Colonel Tigh's probably been in the service just about as long as Adama has. He's even older than Adama. They met each other a long, long time ago, twenty years before the destruction of the colonies, and while that was admittedly twenty years after the first Cylon War ended, Tigh was serving on a battleship during the Cylon War. So they already had human-appearing cylons??? Also, cylons can age (since Saul looked pretty damn young in some of those flashback scenes).
Oh, and Baltar totally has to get acquitted, because they're not going to chuck him off the show. Or if he doesn't get acquitted, there'll be some reason for not killing him.
Adama so drove Lee to outing the president's cancer. The blame lies one hundred percent squarely at his feet, for being a drunk asshole. Though Lee is also totally a rebellious post-teen.

I dunno...
Date: 2007-03-20 06:51 am (UTC)Not saying Sam isn't a Cylon, just that the one phrase we heard in the preview isn't enough to tell us. (Maybe it's "we" in the sense of "all humans are cylons", i.e. they aren't really two different species. Or maybe Sam's mistaken--i.e. like Baltar, he came to the conclusion that he's a sleeper-cylon, but without solid evidence. Or maybe it wasn't actually his voice. Or maybe they have a few models based on real humans--i.e. Sam is a human, but the cylons built a model that looks like him. Or maybe or maybe or maybe. We just didn't hear enough, and we didn't see anything.)
Also, even if Sam's a human, that doesn't necessarily mean the music is a cylon indicator. Yes, Tori was acting weird. The music is clearly significant, and we'll find out what the connection was. But I wouldn't jump to "Sam's a cylon, and so are Tigh and Tori." (And yes, if Tigh's a cylon, they got some splainin' to do. In that case, I'd bet it's a Body Snatchers scenario--they're able to build a model to take over a particular human's role. He can't have been a cylon all the way back, unless the backstory's about to get way way retconned.)
