In the second-to-last episode of Angel, which aired in 2004, Angel meets with a female Senator (Senator Helen Brucker) who is running for re-election to the Senate and wants to smear her opponent's name. At the end of the episode, he learns that she is a member of the evil secret society he has just joined (the Circle of the Black Thorn) and also, more importantly (to me), that she is planning to run for President in 2008:
ANGEL
Senator. I had no idea you were so well...connected.
SENATOR
Well, I'm not gonna take the White House in 2008 on just my sparkling wit and funding from hostile governments.
Notice a certain physical similarity to a familiar face:

(
tigupine also points out that her first initial is H.) That was amusing enough, but it gets better.
In the final episode, Gunn shows up to dust the Senator's staff of vampires and kill the Senator herself. In the end, after killing the Senator by throwing an axe into her forehead, the young black man quips:
"Looks like you boys are gonna need to find a new candidate."
Since I don't yet have any "Barack in '08" paraphernalia, maybe I should make some of my own, reading "Gunn in '08"....
