What I really miss...
Oct. 15th, 2003 02:44 amRight now, I want to go for a kebab. It's cold enough outside to pretend that I'm in Oxford, and I'm wearing my nice periwinkle fleece even indoors, and if I could just walk thirty or so yards to Ahmed's, I'd be very happy. Pulling all-nighters without chips or kebab meat or even a jacket potato just doesn't seem right, somehow. Of course, Ahmed would be gearing up to leave already, that's how much my schedule's shifted. I used to think that 2:30 or 3am was very late, and I'd have been working for absolutely ages before it got that late; tonight, I was at the library until 9pm, then came home and didn't manage to start working again properly until more like 11pm, and not for another hour or so did Craig come home, with a friend (his racketball mixed doubles partner), and the two of them watch The Matrix: Reloaded. So now it's 2:41am, and it feels like I've only been working for a little while, though in fact I've been working reasonably steadily all afternoon. Sans a few hours for rehearsal and dinner.
Just musing. I could always make some tea. But that would really only be another displacement activity.

Hmm, I want a kebab too!
Date: 2003-10-15 09:58 am (UTC)Sorry to hear you're working so late without comfort food. Could you make some beans on toast?
I'll send you e-inspiration for papyrology. And an e-kebab too :)

Ooh, there's an idea, if only I had some beans. 'Cause then I could make beans on toast. If I had some toast.
(Actually, I have got bread, and I could aim for marmite on toast. I may do that when I next get "bored.")
