If you were making very anonymous comments, I wouldn't have done. But anyone who knows you in the first place is going to figure out in two seconds who you are, simply from what you're writing, and for people who don't know you, knowing your first name really isn't going to hurt! If you were being subtle, I'd be subtle too. (Remember me saying that you blatantly didn't need to sign your posts with -R because I'd have known anyway that it was you?) :P
anyone who knows you in the first place is going to figure out in two seconds who you are Yes, that's the idea. I wanted any intelligent human being who knows me well to be able to figure out who I am, but I want to be anonymous to those who don't already know me.
for people who don't know you, knowing your first name really isn't going to hurt! Depends whether you talk about me to your friends who don't know me, in which case the name Rachel might actually mean something.
The other reason I was trying to be slightly anonymous was because I'm considering asking you for that code [No, I do have willpower, I... will... resist...] and I don't necessarily want people (in general, not you specifically) to connect the identity I may create in that hypothetical lj with the "R" who posts here.
Annoyingly, the picture didn't show up. Anyway, you were too late with the code, as you predicted you might be... as soon as I mentioned my lj on the G&S chatlist, it got snapped up by a mutual acquaintance.

Never mind.

The picture looks fine to me both in preview and when I look at your actual comments page. I wonder what the problem is.

an unbroken version of my pic, in case anyone's curious
