I always hated Wesley Crusher, because he was *so* annoying. But Wil Wheaton seems pretty cool. He's apparently brilliant in person, according to two of my friends who met him, and has a great sense of humour. And he has good taste.

Yes, I realized that while I was riding my bike to campus... I was like, oh, Wesley Crusher. 'Cause generally, if someone says Wesley, these days I either think of Wesley from BtVS/AtS, or I think someone's misspelling Westley. ;)

But really, I knew that. :)

I think Wil Wheaton was one of the first celebrity bloggers, if not the first. For that matter, he may have been one of the first bloggers, period. I learned about him in the context of blogging, not Star Trek. :)

He does seem to have been about a year ahead of Neil Gaiman, with respect to the celebrity thing. But probably not exactly one of the first bloggers; he started blogging in 2000, and even just lj has been around since 1999; and lj wouldn't have been started in the form it was if there was already a pretty strong trend of blogging.
