Short recap
Nov. 11th, 2003 12:27 amYesterday (Sunday) was the Peace & Compassion (& War) concert. We did... interestingly. I proved yet again that I have inherited my mother's parallel parking genes, and they were simply a bit delayed in expressing themselves, though I swear that having
leech in the car is also lucky. IHOP in the morning. Yummy pasta and garlic bread courtesy of
psychopepsquad in the evening.
Today I found in Roberts (GLH) an exciting parallel for the literary hand on the recto of my papyrus (though the provenance isn't the same, sadly; though it's not an identical hand in any case), and I went to the W.K. Pritchett lecture. I left the reception after not too long, however, to attend
leech's makeshift birthday party. This clearly just goes to show how much I like him, because the food at the reception was nothing short of excellent.
Observations from today: (1)
leech wondered out loud just how many UCCE people must think by now that the two of us are going out. (2) This evening, I recalled the childhood taunt "Missed me, missed me, now you've got to kiss me," and I wondered just precisely when that loses its effectiveness. (3) I always start liking doing work at the most inconvenient times. Right now, for example, I have two pieces of fic to finish, one by today, and one by Wednesday. Instead, I have been beavering away at editing my papyrus, far beyond the simple transcription that needs to be complete by Wednesday. The fanfics, therefore, are in great peril, and the first one hasn't been finished. The second one hasn't even been started. All I can say is, it's a good thing there's no school tomorrow!
Hurrah for a Tuesday Veteran's Day. I shall sleep in and wash my hair and write. Maybe I'll even do laundry. This last would be a very good thing, because I discovered this morning, upon pulling out some black turtlenecks that haven't seen the light of day (or even my room) since at least a year ago, that there were little white circles of mildew on them. And then there turned out to be a big splotch of mildew on my green plaid scarf, as well.
I'm far behind in reading people's livejournals. If there's anything very important, probably best to tell me in person, too, for now.
