Dec. 16th, 2003 01:05 amFollowing the German exam, had lunch with
girlwithjournal at Café Milano and then went shopping for various Christmas presents. During this time, my eye started really itching, so I kept rubbing it. And then it felt like there was something in it. So when I got home, I looked in the mirror, and my eyeball had swollen. Yes, the white part of my actual eyeball had this liquidy pocket that was protruding. Which is why it felt like something was in my eye; when I blinked, I was catching my eyeball between my eyelids. So I took some claritin and stopped touching my eye at all. The swelling had gone down a few hours later. But that was really disturbing, and really disgusting. My eye's still itching, but I'm obviously refraining from rubbing it. Got
leech's present and something for
nenar, and
girlwithjournal and I figured out what to get for
mciac and
psychopepsquad. (Well, Girl'd already gotten her part of the latter, but I may do a related gift.)
Then I went home and spent some time (though not nearly enough) cleaning the living room. I will finish tomorrow, really. My parents are coming up early Wednesday, after all.
This evening,
leech and Sarah and Arjun and I had the uber-important gig in the city. Driving over was fantastic; it was so cold today that the air over San Francisco was absolutely sparkling clear, and the lights of the buildings were bright gold, and the black silhouettes were crisply defined shapes against the greyer sky. And the Oakland docks were all lit up, too. The gig itself was really fun, as well, because it was a relatively small party of very importantish people (some high-up people in Ford, apparently), and singing in such a good quartet is always nice. And the people appreciated our singing. The gig was at the University Club on Nob Hill, so it was all very posh.
We've conceived a tentative plan to busk with carols at some point this week, and just possibly actually make some money. But even if we don't make money with the busking, we'll still have a good time.

Re: Yeesh!
Date: 2003-12-16 11:29 pm (UTC)No clue what happened; now it's completely fine except for the couple red spots from broken blood vessels and the fact that it still sometimes is itching like fuck. But I'm not rubbing it, this time! :)
So it was the opposite of the gig we did together at Jillian's, eh?
So very much. They even kept asking us to move around, because different tables couldn't hear us; we could have been louder and reached more tables, but then we would've been too loud for the tables near us, and I think it worked out well.
Though someone requested O Come Emmanuel and we hadn't rehearsed it. The third verse was great. ;)
