This morning, Katie and I went to get chocolate at the Hévin chocolaterie. It was, however, closed. So we wandered around for an hour or so, while waiting for it to open; I showed her the Alliance Française and we each got pastries at some random patisserie. I had a chausson(?) aux pruneaux.

When we eventually did get back there, it was open, and the chocolates looked fucking amazing. She got a bag of random stuff (not quite sure what), and I got a single piece of "ganache amère." Which was, in a word, heavenly. In a few more words, it caused me to realize just why, possibly, chocolate was once considered an aphrodisiac. (Katie said, "Once?".) My parents are being dragged back, to buy me larger and more expensive things, and I somehow can't imagine that they'll mind. Maybe Sam likes chocolate lots, too. I wouldn't mind going back every day. :)

At 11, Katie had class, so I'd planned to go with her to the Sorbonne, meet Sharon there, and then the two of us depart for places not yet known. Which happened. Sharon and I wandered along the Rue Mouffetard, which I quite randomly hadn't yet seen. (It was close enough to where I was staying before moving into the Cité, and more to the point, really near where I met Anna that time, but whatever.) Apparently, it's where much of Amélie was filmed. I couldn't tell. But I took photographs (must get them developed soon!!), and I picked up a yummy crêpe for lunch. It wasn't precisely what I thought I was getting, which was what was on the griddles when we arrived (I've still not figured out what that actually was), but it was tasty even so.

I was barely not late to class; we had a fairly random day. No new grammar that I can specifically think of (though that doesn't discount its actual possible existence). This evening I hung out with the CEA lot who are at the Cité, minus Katie... and, in fact, minus Jess and Jody, who were on a date together. That amused me. Jess has a boyfriend. Anyway, bought food for the trip to Versailles tomorrow, bought wine, generally had fun. We've been playing a card game that some people call Egyptian Ratfuck, but everyone with any sense knows that Egyptian Ratfuck and Egyptian Ratscrew are the same game, which is the slapping game that you can't tell people the rules to. Huh. Odd people. Anyway, this one's nothing like it, I can detail the rules if anyone's actually interested.

Sleep time now, I guess, as I had ought to get up relatively early.

It's all [livejournal.com profile] spazatron's fault, and I've not even met him. But here are my oh-so-amusing lj-slut stats )
