My day. Ooh.
Oct. 27th, 2003 12:16 amOnce again, having gone to bed sillily late, I woke up before my alarm went off. Only a few minutes before, to be fair, but it's still really strange. I'm becoming increasingly sleep-deprived, and it seems that there's little I can do about it. Well, I suppose I could go to sleep earlier. But, but, but....
A small group of P5'ers went to sing "All Souls Night" at Mark's Unitarian church. I was about a million times less nervous than I was on Friday, probably 'cause this time I knew for sure that I knew the piece. Or maybe 'cause the audience wasn't going to be half so critical, not being full of singers and their friends. But the best thing about the service was that I got inspiration for the creepy Halloween fic I'm supposed to be writing. I got inspiration from the happy children's story they told. I'm strange. But I was sitting there listening, going, you know, this story could be really creepy, with the exact same setup. How sweet and fluffy is it, though, that they have stories for the children at the service? I like Unitarians.
After the service, Mark took us out to lunch at some Asian-fusion place which was quite nice. Then we returned to Berkeley, and
leech and I worked on creating my character for his campaign, until it was time for rehearsal. "La Guerre" is coming along quite well, which, given that our concert's in two weeks, is a good thing. Then I drove
leech home and we finished creating my character. As he rightly said, what does it say about us, that we're more willing to insinuate that we're sleeping together than to admit that we're roleplaying together? It amuses us, though.
In the evening, I went over to
girlwithjournal's to watch Alias, and
psychopepsquad and I gave her the Indiana Jones DVDs. She smiled lots, which was nice. The Alias episode was really awfully silly, and ( Alias 3.5 spoilers )
Then I came home and watched the tail end of "What Women Want" with Craig and his not-quite-girlfriend. I thought it was strange seeing the name Darcy on every page when I was reading the Lord Darcy stories, but hearing the name Darcy on screen over and over is even stranger. It'd've been nice if I fancied Mel Gibson. As it is? Just creepy.
