And so it continues...
Jun. 6th, 2003 09:19 amFour hours a day of French is stressful. I also had a nasty headache yesterday and took my medicine for it, which of course resulted in me being sleepy. During class. I sort of periodically dozed for the last half hour or so (which seemed to stretch on interminably). I had warned the teacher that this could happen, though, so hopefully she wasn't too offended.
I saw "The Secretary" the other night; it's a very good film, and people should watch it if they don't mind having to see a bit of S&M in exchange for excellent acting and cinematography. I had wanted to see it in the States, but it left the theaters before I got a chance. So I was very happy to see that it was going to show up here. "The Matrix Reloaded" is also arriving soon, on the 16th, and since I didn't get a chance to see it at home, either, I plan to see it here. There's at least one theater near me that has it in the original version (i.e., not dubbed into French). Despite its mixed reviews, there's no way I'm not going to see it, given that I had to miss out on a number of interesting conversations because of this omission.
The annoyance of the strike is getting worse, because the RER B line (which I take for the first leg of my journey) is now running at about 44%, rather than the 80-odd% of the first day. However, I can walk about 10 minutes and get to Porte d'Orleans, which is the southernmost stop of the line that I would then switch to. So there's that gamble... might an RER train come in those ten minutes that I'm walking? And how long would I then have to wait for a train at Porte d'Orleans, anyway?
ETA: I had a strange dream last night that was about roleplaying with
leech and
grimhild but also somehow included Spike and Dru. Or possibly James Marsters and Juliet Landau playing Spike and Dru, because I'm not sure if it was the characters or the actors in those roles. And Dru was being a tree. And I got told (I think by
grimhild) that I couldn't act, but I already know this, so I couldn't figure out why I was being told it in such an accusatory tone.

Date: 2003-06-06 09:11 am (UTC)Anyway, I think Doppelgängland Willow; first of all, that's one of my all-time favorite episodes, and secondly, I wouldn't want the terrifying grief that scary-veiny-Willow was experiencing.
Dru would be fun to play at, but I'd definitely go for vamp-Willow if I got to be one.

Date: 2003-06-06 09:27 am (UTC)As for grief, you miss what she actually was (before Giles' Trojan Horse)- she actually wasn't feeling anything at all, which at times feels very good (particularly when there is excessive grief to contend with)- although it really, really isn't. Fun is probably the wrong term for it anyway.

Date: 2003-06-06 09:58 am (UTC)The deluge of emotion she got from the Giles thing was a different grief entirely. That wasn't her grief, that was everyone else's. I'd make allusion to her behavior in "The Killer In Me," but you haven't seen it. :P
As for Kennedy, she's very pretty. Opinion differs as to her attitude. She's not Tara, could never be Tara, but I don't think she's necessarily wrong for Willow. Just different.
