wychwoodium is an opaque, effervescent fuchsia liquid extracted from the leaves of the Tum-Tum tree.
Mixing darcydodollium with wychwoodium causes a violent chemical reaction, producing a translucent scarlet potion which gives the user the power of amazing hearing.

What's a Tum-Tum tree? It's making me think of the Jumblies, but I'm not sure if that's the right connection... Anyway, yet another "violent" reaction :D

As pseudomonas said, I came to his Alice in Wonderland tea party dressed as the Tum-Tum tree, because I'd played the Tum-Tum tree in a dramatic rendition of the Jabberwocky when I was about four or five. I had hand-shaped leaves.
