There are those who are saying:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

And I say, yes! inform away! Including people for whom I'm on a friendsfriends list, if you feel so inclined.

ETA: I seem to have run out of space on my mood line. It was meant to read:

apparently not headed suicidally for a cliff. unless I'm feeling mythical, too. that's probably quixotic, no?

My real name is Sarah Thompson. I like spinach. I'm doing a PhD in computer science at Cambridge. Sometimes I lack self worth, feel very small, feel shy. Yet, objectively, there is no reason why this should be the case. I have been through a lot, but I recalcitrantly insist upon continued survival.

Not sure I've actually eaten creamed spinach, as you happen to mention it, but I imagine that it would indeed be lovely. I have amazed a few people over the years by introducing them to creamed cabbage, however, which is a must-try!

It's really easy. You need a pan with a close fitting lid. Get it quite hot, empty, well above boiling point. Pour about half a cup of water, which should boil vigorously. Chuck in the cabbage and put the lid on. Leave it, giving the pan an occasional shake to stop anything sticking, for about three minutes. Open the lid, drain off any excess water that hasn't boiled off. Add double cream, heat it until it bubbles, ad salt 7 pepper. You're done.

Also works with soya cream if you want to go vegan. :-)

The idea is to steam the cabbage really quickly so it keeps its flavour rather than going into school dinner mode. And, yes, you do chop it first, but not too small usually works best. I've done it successfully with whole leaves.
