Dinner and a movie. The other way 'round.

So tonight I went to see a screening of "Under the Tuscan Sun" with girlwithjournal, nenar, dizzyditz, and Girl's godmother Meredith. Following this we went to a restaurant in Berkeley and ate there for free, 'cause Meredith's a restaurant critic. The film, unlike "Underworld," was really good, if awfully reminiscent of the BBC miniseries of "A Year in Provence"; gorgeous scenery, gorgeous cinematography, good acting, a sensible script.... The restaurant was Café Raphael, which was also very good and is, it turns out, kosher Italian food. And all the wine there is kosher, too. We had a fantastic Bordeaux which was, in fact, kosher l'Pesach. This is very cool. This should clearly be incentive for all my kosher friends to come visit me.

As much as I liked seeing the Berkeley campus feature in "Happy Anniversary," it's sort of strange having to pretend like it's in LA....

I wonder how pirates talk in German? Although in any case, today we get to learn how to say "touch my monkey" in German. :)
